I just wanted to ask if anyone knows what it is and if it's something that requires urgent vet care.
Cat eye worm or vein. Pay attention to signs of worms in kittens. Humans can be infected by hookworms even without ingestion. Parasites such as roundworms, hookworms, whipworms and tapeworms cause weight loss, vomiting, diarrhea, and other gastrointestinal symptoms.
Your cat will develop a cough. Once it gets in your body, it develops and can migrate to different tissues. Symptoms of hookworm infection include dark, sticky/tarry feces (known as melena), diarrhea, or constipation.
The adult female worm lays her eggs in the tears. Or if i should observe it for a few days first. Parasitic worms can infect cats, the most common are tapeworm, hookworm, roundworm and heartworm.
If the cause of the eye infection is a virus such as calicivirus or herpes virus, there may be other signs of an upper respiratory infection such as sneezing and/or nasal discharge. A month later i was looking at my cat's eye in the sunlight and i saw what the first poster saw, a worm looking thing in the cat's eye. Stress and underlying illness (in both cats) can cause a weakening of the immune system which may lead to secondary illnesses taking hold.
A common explanation for this can be a parasite infection. There’s something special about a cat’s eyes. Other symptoms may be coughing, sneezing, runny eyes and nose, itching around the anus area, and rapid breathing.
These are the most common intestinal parasites found in cats; Some cats may have a cough from larvae migrating to the lungs. The adult worm and the larva will cause pain in the eye, visual problems.
